MULTI- UNIT MOVE INS

Hello,

Is there a way to move a tenant into multiple units all at once? I just had one moving into 11 different units and had to click on & edit each unit individually - an hour later I'd love a solution! Any help would be great.

Thanks!!

One by one... I did this with a 12 unit rental couple years ago. It's tedious but worth it, until they all move out

Yikes that is tedious! I don't have to EDIT every single one of them if they have chosen to be linked, I just move them into the first one, then click move-in, and choose the next unit, then it takes you to the payments screen where you choose an existing tenant (that tenant) and hit next and add them from there, all of the information you previously input is there.

It might have to do with how your system is set up by admin.

    Good luck,

    Sonya

@sonyawiprud thanks for your input! However, I'm more specifically wondering if there is a way to select one tenant, click multiple units, and hit accept having all the units be linked to the tenant. As you can imagine, the process you just described can be tedious and time consuming for multi - unit move ins.

Nope, every unit has to be done individually.

Orkocean is correct; have to do one at a time. But since the tenant has to fill out a lease for each one, its not that bad. You can finish each without taking payment, then go back in and take one single payment for all at the end.

Theoretically (if you have the permissions), you could go into Setup and select "Put Tenants in Units" but I'm not sure how that would work, or even a good idea! Maybe Sitelink will chime in?

@Orkocean is correct; move ins must be performed unit-by-unit. @teamcapitola brings up a great point: if all move ins are completed without taking a payment, a single payment can be taken in the end to simplify the process.

@Garrett_Boone@teamcapitola brought up a good point about setup & "Put Tenants in Units" Would this work? Do you see any change for these tedious move-ins in the future?

@secondarystorage The Put Tenants in Units option is for first-time setup with a new database and would not apply to this situation.

The work that goes into creating an account during the move in process (charge creation, lease creation, discounts, etc.) is extensive and cannot be simultaneously done for multiple accounts. Changing this would be a huge developmental undertaking, so at this time there are no plans to do so.
