Updating Credit Card expiration dates: what changed??

In the past when someone is updating their expiration date they have confirmed the last four of the card and given me the new expiration date and security code. In the last two months, I have found that their card is declining and I have to call them and get the WHOLE number now. Started happening after the last update. Anyone else having this issue?

    We have also had cards we ran that then reverted back to the old expiration date even though the new one is right there in the input box.  Customers even go to their banks to try to figure out the problem and the banks say it is on our end.
    BECU has been a major one.

    When I had this happen, it was explained to me, that now we have to delete the old card first and enter the information all over.  Unless they have fixed it.
