What is the most useless item you have that you can't seem to part with?
Everyone has something at home or in storage that's just taking up space, but you're attached to it anyway for some reason. For me it's an old (broken) fish tank that housed many happy fish, and I keep thinking I'll fix it and use it again. But it's been years now...:)What about you?

Lock cutting
Question for the masses here, how many of you charge for a lock cut and have your tenants attempted to do it themselves ? Were any of your tenants successful at cutting their own, or do you even allow them to do their own?

Strangest Item Found in Unit Up for Auction?
After weeks of calling and emailing the customer to catch up on her rent and failing to receive any response, we processed her unit for auction. We were shocked to find that the only item she kept in her unit was a trophy for second place in a line-dancing competition :D What is the strangest item you ever found in a unit…

Can someone pleeease do something about the form and map editor?
This feels like a broken record, and maybe I should just be asking about information to become a feedback partner so I could at least have a reason to demand meticulous attention paid to the nuances of the software, but: Please, can someone ask someone to ask someone on the development team to USE the software?…

Travel in style to Mars
Who says space travel has to be boring, cramped, and uncomfortable? If a trip to Mars is like a Carnival cruise, maybe it wouldn't be half bad. If you had the money, would you go?

Veterans Day 2020
Less than one percent of the US population serves in our Armed Forces at any given time. To defend one’s country is a calling, one not many people answer. But for all who have, we’re forever grateful, especially for those we have the honor to call our colleagues and customers. From all of us at Storable, thank you for your…

sitelink demands $800 for tech support in order for me to access my sitelink stand alone edition
I bought the stand alone edition 7 yrs ago with 6 months of tech support. I had to replace my computer a month ago and after re-installing sitelink and entering all my tenant data, the next day I tried to sign in and get a message that I had to register sitelink in order to conduct my business. I call the number and…

Friday the 13th...
It's Friday the 13th! Are you worried? Fear of the number 13 seems to be ingrained in modern-day culture: Many buildings don't have a 13th floor Some airports don't have a gate 13; hospitals sometimes skip room 13 Fun facts: There can never be more than 3 Friday the 13ths in any given year Cheat sheet: If a month starts on…

Monthly Headache
We raised our rent January of this year...sent out letters (and made phone calls) of course November of last year letting all the tenants know. Tenants calls me up February (after already paying the new price once in January) insisting I was a liar and she was only going to pay her old rate. She then told me I did not have…

What's your strangest customer?
I'm sure we've all seen a few zingers. My personal best so far was the warlock. He wanted a unit he could cook his "brews" in. When I told him we don't allow open flames in the unit, he cursed me with some kind of dried claw thing. Later found out he's known to the police in the area for being a general troublemaker, and…

When will hollywood and games appreciate self storage?
Not really sure what section this would go in since there isn't a basic general discussion area. My wife loves zombie type movies, I play a lot of games with similar stories where you have to "loot" your area to find items to survive such as The Walking Dead. Why is it you never see anyone rummaging through a storage…

People Watching...
I've noticed a trend. The hotter it gets in Texas, the more dangerous the packing/unpacking. It seems lately that boxes and totes are haphazardly tossed around like so much fluff by the wind. They throw items into the unit...no stacking. Then, when they come to find something in their unit, that has no rhyme or reason to…

Weed spray...and other killing studies
I totally enjoy killing weeds! I have taken over this duty from my landscaping service. I think he goes behind me anyway...LOL The one thing I dread is the wasp spraying...because they fight back! I recently figured out, if I sit in my car....can at the ready....window cracked enough to emit the stream of death...I can…

Thinking of going all out for the "green day"...

Grumpy people...
Why is it a manager's fault when a customer doesn't pay their bill on time? Is everyone in society a potential projector of grumpy? When does self accountability kick in, in a customer's head? 24 years worth and it never changes...#ventingintexas #grrrr :/

This Tenant Killed Me
He didn't really kill me, but I did get a little mad. A 20-some year old tenant walked into my office and asked when the dumpster was going to be emptied. "Friday," I said. "Bad luck. I dropped my retainer in there and am going on vacation this weekend. Would you mind looking for it? It's in a yellow container." ... What?
