What does "ss" mean in the User Column?

In many reports, the user initials show as "ss". We do not have any employees with those initials. I'm assuming it is a system code, but can not find what it means anywhere.

My guess would be "system server" or "storable server". SS shows on a second daily close that happens if a payment was made after closing, but before midnight. Other items that show "SS" on anything that goes out automatically such as invoices.0
