Account Updater?

As of today, I have been getting messages on certain accounts when I open them and the card is expired or about to expire, so that's new, but this was in notes on an account of a person who just allows us to keep a card on file for when he calls to make the payment. How can this happen? It doesn't show that he went on the our website and changed his card info. So, who changed it and how? And how do I know this is in fact his card?

"AA:Note" are notes when changes are done from your website. They would have had to log in to their account online for that note to generate.1

We had a customer that I contacted on 05/24/26 because his card was expiring on 5/31/26. He called me yesterday 06/01/26 to update information. He gave me a new card number, expiration date etc. When I went in to change it, the expiration date was updated. I looked in his notes and found this:
5/30/2026 1:36 AM AA: Note - Automatic Billing: Name on Card changed to (I removed his name), Credit Card expiration changed to 05-2030 via Account Updater.
The customer never mentioned to me that he had gone online to update the card. If he did that, not sure why would he call and give another card number, exp date, cvv.

Just found another one from May 31st, and this person does not have access to the website because she doesn't have an e-mail address and she is 83 years old. AND, it's showing her whole credit card number IN NOTES with a new expiration date of August of 2026.... from July of 2026, that can't be right. I removed her name and credit card number for the purpose of showing this. Also, I noticed 'expired cards' has also disappeared from the tasks list.
HAVE I BEEN HACKED??

So weird! I have 3 cards sitting on the "expired cards" list. I'll keep an eye on them & let you know what happens at the end of the month if they don't call to update information first.1

I just called SiteLink, it's a new service that they are offering so we don't have to contact customer when their card expires or their are changes to their accounts. She said it's only been active for about a week. Customers are not going online to make the changes it's being done autimatically through them.0
