We have a food bank box in our front office...not really a "jar" but the same principle.  Once each quarter we do a rent credit raffle from anyone that gave X amount of jars.

We have a baby bottle donation bottle in the office for a pregnancy help center. We also have a number of units that we donate to a few charities like Toy's for Tot's, a local food bank (for pallet storage, no food), local kid's baseball league. We also have a Salvation Army donation bin on the property.

We work with Charity Storage to raise funds for local organizations.

Other than our support for St Jude's Children's Research Hospital. We have donated to storage space to local churches and charities.

We allow 2% of our total rentable sq. footage to be donated to charity; toys-for-tots, local youth groups, Capitola Jr. Guards etc. The store manager is responsible for the budget each year, and can offer either discounted rent or zero dollar rentals provided the total stays within the allotted 3%. We also limit charity discounts to organizations within 10 miles of the facility to support our local community.
