SUNDERLAND — Curious about the construction on Route 116? A small self-storage facility is moving to Amherst Road, not far from the town center.
“I’ve been working on the project just over three years. We broke ground a few months ago, and we should be done by mid-November,” said Rick Strong, who co-owns the future Sugarloaf Storage with his wife, Julie.
The facility will be small, about 4.5 acres, and consist of six to nine buildings, with about 175 storage units, according to municipal records. Rick Strong, who also runs the 190-unit Sunderland Self Storage about a mile down the road, first presented before the Zoning Board of Appeals July 2014.
