Parking Space Reservations

For those of you who rent parking spaces (auto, trailer, boat, RV) how far in advance can a tenant reserve them - 30, 60, 90 days?  Do you take a reservation fee - refundable or nonrefundable?  Any other details welcomed.  Thanks.

Depending on what we have available will depend on how long we hold a reservation for. We do not charge for reservations either. If it comes down to a prospective tenant walking in and they want that last reserved unit, we will call the person with the reservation and make sure they still want it and give them a smaller time frame to work with, depending on the situation.

Doesn't matter what type of space, parking or normal storage. 7 day window for us, no fee required. No one is going to tie up a unit for longer than that with me. If you know you're gonna absolutely want that space and are worried it may be gone by the time you really need it then you can rent and pay for an empty space until you're ready to use it. Have had quite a few times people will rent early if they're worried about an in demand/rarely available sized space being available come the time they truly need it.

I agree with @Orkocean. The only thing that we do different is that if we only have 1 or 2 of that size, we will only hold a day or 2 at the most. If they want it, come and rent it.

7 days.  If we have enough of a particular unit or space, extend it out a little bit...maybe 10 days or 2 weeks.  If we only have one or two available, create a sense of urgency.  First come first serve, I've had people rent units well in advance, just so they know it will be there waiting for them when they show up.

7 days.   But if we have only 1 or 2, it's 1-2 days or they have to pay a reservation fee to get 7 days.  If they want more than 7 days, then they just need to come rent it now or hope that we still have it when they're ready.

@rmason if it is an online reservation we charge a $10.00 fee, if they call it is free. like the others we try to reserve them for a week, if we only have a few it is 3 days. if we have plenty of them we may extend it a couple of days.
