Changing a Move Out Date Once Processed

I was processing a move out for a tenant that never moved her stuff in. I wanted to move her out prior to the contract date 4/8 and refund her the $ but was only offered 4/8 as a move out date. Long story short, the move out was processed and I did not have an option to refund her. Anyone know how to fix it??

Then, see if you can get permission to backdate the moveout (that is a program default in settings).

@i43storage, thank you! I have never had to do that but I did find it. Any idea on how to give a full refund as opposed to the prorated? The calendar is not allowing me to click the day before0

Ask your supervisor to allow you those permissions or to adjust the number of back days allowed and you will be able to. You can reverse a move-out up to 5 days afterwards.0

That is how mine is set up?? I wonder why it won't allow me to move her out on the 7th. Maybe because the move in date was the 8th? Worse case I will prorate and keep the $2. I just wish there was a way lol0

@ESS, I have been here a few months but I am the supervisor lol can you let me know how to adjust this? I have the same set up as @i43storage. When I change it to 5 then the move out will not let me select a day until the 11th.1

You could try this: after reversing their move-out, delete the payment they made. Then move them out on the day they moved in (give them a $2 credit if need be before hand) and then you will see the credit due them at move-out and return their payment.Jean Marie

Thank you both for your help! I deleted the payment and it prompted me to refund the tenant which I did. Then I moved her out as of the day she signed the contract and prorated the charges @ $2, posting a cash payment. I guess it is the best work around for the situation. I am glad I know now that there is no way to move out a new customer prior to the date rent charges as it was new for me. Thank you again!2
