We replace the lock with one of ours when we cut it, and we add a auction tag / seal immediately after taking photos of the contents.

Red lock on one latch, tag on the other.  The tag alone isn't enough to keep the contents safe since they are easily removed.

We video record every lock cut as well as taking pictures and proceed to use auction tags along with locks to make sure the contents within remain secure through the process.

Same as MamaDuke7 ,.. Numbered Tag on one side, and our red overlock on the other.

One of us always follows the auction company when they perform the cuts/inventories and take video & pics. The more people present during inventory/sealing the easier it is to dispute claims of "Grammas 20 thousand dollar engagement ring is missing now!"

I place a programmable disc lock on the unit and the tamper tag as well. That way I can give the lock code to the auction winner once they have paid.

Yep, we cut locks, inventory, close unit and put both a red lock and an auction tag. Everything from beginning to end is on video. If tenant pays off balance ,we don't remove our lock until they have put their own on.
