Issue with future move in

I know this was an issue once before, but want to see if anything has changed.

We did a rental that wasn't slated to go into effect until June 21st. However, the tenant was able to come up early to begin moving stuff in today. I know last time, if you did a future move-in, took the payment from that date, and had the lease signed, you could not change, update or delete the rental until the date projected.

Is that still true?

And I understand that it's Juneteeth and all, however, tech support should not be closed.

Yes, that's still true.  You'll have to manually give them access if you're okay with them moving in early.

Yeah, I tried a couple of different methods, and all came back with the same results I had in the past. That's kind of a bum deal.

If a future move in wishes to move in earlier, you can move the tenant out and leave the refund on the old unit. Move the tenant into the unit, likely crediting the admin fee, then transfer the refund to the new unit. You will likely need to credit some rent to correct the paid thru date. Support can assist if needed.

Note that a future move-in is not "intent to move in". That is a reservation. A future move-in is special case handling of an extraordinary situation. That comes with limitations such as not being able to modify the move-in date (same as any other ledger/rental.)
