How do I add and save a credit card number without taking a payment?

I just had a tenant come in and want to change credit cards from the one on file.  How can I save the new credit card info without taking a payment?  SiteLink tells me no transaction entered and clears the new number

From the payment screen you click on ledger settings then edit autopayment, enter info & save.
From the tenant screen, highlight the tenant and click on credit card (to the right), enter info & save.
