StoragePug vs. Others

Due to SiteLink not offering a reasonably priced and accessible API, or any recent updates or customization options for online rentals I'm in the process of shopping for a new website provider.   Any feedback on StoragePug or others that you would recommend that are reasonably priced and allow for online rentals without a ton of added fees for coding and build? Appreciate it.

We are with Storagepug. It's definitely one of the more expensive options. They were easy to work with. They make it seem like you're all one big family and will sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya together. Whether that's the type of business relationship you want or not is up to you. I found it to be a bit annoying.

Their template DOES NOT OFFER discounts when paying online for your customers. So if you have a 6 month or 12 month prepay discount, it is not available to use online. This is really frustrating as a LOT of our customers prepay for a discount so we must still manually run these payments. Storagepug has also made it very CLEAR they will not be implementing this option. I will be jumping ship as soon as I find something that offers discounts for online payments.

We also offer a lot of different size and variety of units, with/without power, with/without lights, roll up doors, swing doors etc. Theres really no way to differentiate these with Storagepug on your website. They are limited on showing amenities and different things your units may offer.

Any changes you want to make also must go thru Storagepug. You have access to a backend to look at stats, but you are not allowed to change anything at all on your site. You must submit requests and wait for them to update any pages.

Their algorithm for renting units is also Last In First Out. So it will rent the most recent unit that has become available. If you had a 5x10 empty out today, and someone rents a 5x10 on your site, it's renting that 5x10 that was just emptied out. If you are slow at cleaning units or getting things ready, this could be a problem depending on how your operation runs. Just something to be aware of.

Have you posed this question on SelfStorageTalk or Reddit? You might get better answers than on Storable's Forum.

Is there an active subreddit for storage?

Thanks for the information.  I've opted to not go with storagepug, not because I don't like their services or sites, but the cost isn't feasible for me at this point.
