New E-Sign Sucks!

I don't know what Storable was thinking when they took away the ability to use signature pads for the E-sign. This "new" update is horrible! It has made the process extremely difficult and now what used to take less than 5 minutes now takes over 10 minutes. I am so disappointed with this update and wish we could go back to allowing us to use the signature pads.  This seriously has me considering changing software systems and getting rid of Sitelink all together.

Help me understand why this is so much worse. We don't use signature pads, but I can't imagine how ending support for them makes it so much harder.

Can't the tenant still just type or sign on a touch screen, and then click all the following signature spots to fill them in?

I am not saying anyone is wrong. I am just hoping to get prepared for any changes.

When you don't use touch screen monitors to begin with, the challenge is having to change our entire set up to touch screens. Even using iPads and having to sign in every time to access the document, pulling it up so the new tenant can even read it, adds more time than is necessary. I have utilize both and the process takes way longer than it used to.
Also, keep in mind not everyone we rent units to is tech savvy, and can find it difficult to navigate this new way.

We totally hear your concerns, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback with us. We know that change—especially when it disrupts your day-to-day—can be frustrating, and we’re committed to making this as smooth as possible for everyone.

Why we’re moving away from USB signature pads:

The main reason for moving away from signature pads is to improve transparency and clarity for tenants as they sign. Signature pads don't show the document as tenants sign, which could lead to confusion or misunderstandings. With tablets, phones, and computers, tenants can view the entire document on-screen, which ensures they understand and feel confident about what they’re signing.

    Signing options available with eSign:

While touchscreens (like an iPad or tablet) are one option, they aren’t the only way. Tenants can also sign with a mouse on a desktop, or even type in their signature using a keyboard if that’s easier. eSign is designed to work with whatever device setup works best for you—whether that’s a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

How this new process benefits you and your tenants:

Ultimately, we believe this approach simplifies the signing process and gives tenants a better experience by providing full visibility into each document. We know that tenants have varying levels of comfort with technology, so we’re committed to supporting you with resources and guidance to make this transition smooth and straightforward for everyone involved. You can see the eSign FAQ here: https://support.sitelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/25752932873623-eSign-upgrade-FAQ.

I don't know what you mean by the tenant is unable to see what they were signing. My system let them review and see the document while still signing with a USB signature pad. Again this new method is way more time consuming and is a headache over all as it completely unnecessary. It is not efficient and to be honest a pain.

I'm with Shelly...customers could view my screen, prior to signing on the Topaz.  The e-sign update was a solution looking for a problem.

    Great Update!
At present, after signing the documents on the iPad, managers are left on the finish screen with no option to return to the home screen except by swiping up to close the web browser. This issue was confirmed by Tier 3 today. Kudos to the developer for not thoroughly testing this update!
Additionally, for the third time, we are experiencing duplicate charges with credit card processing. These duplicate charges do not appear in Sitelink; instead, they can only be viewed by logging into Corp MyHub. This is a known issue, and there is currently no timeline for a resolution.
Another problem arising from this update involves database issues, leading to credit card payments timing out or being voided.
If you aim for transparency, I can still hold the iPad and scroll through to the signature box, which is all the tenant will see. Nothing has been resolved, and the rental process has only become more cumbersome. Thank you once again.

This is precisely why I am heading to Vegas this summer to explore alternative programs!

Has anyone tried to print a new lease?  I can't get it to open.  I finally emailed it to myself and was able to see it then.  So convenient when your busy and need to get things done fast.  The customers that want it printed wait forever.

I am having the same issue. I find it is easier to Print it from the payment screen while I am taking a payment then getting it to print from the Edoc.

Why are you printing it with the new e-signature? We are committed to full transparency and should avoid unnecessary paper usage.   LOL   Just kidding!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re aware of the issue with printing new leases and understand how important it is to have this process work seamlessly. The good news is that our team is actively working on a fix and we anticipate it will be resolved within the next week.

It's all just nuts! They should have left well enough alone.  At a recent state self storage meeting it was a hot topic.

I know right! I am not surprised that this has turned into a hot topic.
