One of my biggest pet peeves with transferring people from larger units to smaller was the fact that the deposit remained at the larger unit amount. And the only way to fix that was to move the tenant out, and then move them back in to balance the books.

Maybe its old news by now because I haven't done a transfer lately, but just did one today. The larger deposit amount transferred over into the right deposit amount for the smaller unit and the remainder went toward rent.
