I have an auction unit full of mouse feces, can I still auction it?

I have a unit that's ready for auction next week. I cut the lock off so I could inventory it, and it has mouse feces everywhere. It's really gross. The floor and furniture are coved in it.

This will depend on your local laws and your facilities rules.
Where I am, I can opt to dispose of it if the units auction value is deemed less than $300.
I can also charge a fee for he cleaning, but that will likely just go to collections.

If the auction value is still enough that it must go to auction, we will not touch the contents any more than absolutely necessary. If cleanup is required prior to auction, I would film the process and photograph every item, so the (ex)tenant can't claim we removed or damaged the items. And absolutely pass the cost of the process on to the (ex)tenant if the law allows.

What will you do if the tenant pays before auction? I would have them move to get it cleaned up, make sure they're not storing food and/or anything that caused this, as the mice will have likely made their way to the rest of your units. You could then also plan on terminating the rental agreement asap because of this. Honestly, if they don't show up to pay, I would call it trash and have it cleaned out and sent to the dump. It would be the same if it were covered in mold. Not safe.
