AVS Address Match

I had a new customer who is paying with debit card.  He hasn't moved the address didn't match.  He even showed me his bank app and the address was exactly the same.  He ran to the bank to put money in and I asked if he spoke to anyone about his address and he said NO he just went through the drive through for the deposit.  I didn't want to rerun the card because I know it will come back rejected for no match on address.  But it went trough just fine.  WHY? I don't understand.  We just switched from first data to storable or sitelink.  Will the payment go through with a mismatched address/AVS?

The payment went through because some payment processors, like Storable/Sitelink, may not strictly enforce AVS (Address Verification System) checks or might use a different level of AVS verification. If the card's issuing bank does not require an exact match for the address, the transaction can still be approved, even with a mismatch. It's possible that the bank only used partial address verification or relied on other factors for approval.
