Non-Refundable reservation fee stays as a credit after expired and/or canceled

We have a $20 non-refundable reservation fee, good for two weeks, that applies to the rent when they move-in, I have noticed my no-shows, expired etc., sometimes they eventually come rent from us and still have that credit sitting there. Why doesn't it go away with the expiration or cancellation?

So it will sit there forever. But you can certainly make an administrative adjustment for the same amount when they finally move in, thus negating the previous fee. Or just create a fee in the software for lapsed reservation that you pop onto their new charges at rental.0
