Do rental rate increases need to be physically mailed?

Getting ready to do rate increases next month. Do they need to be physically mailed or is email acceptable? Obviously mailed for tenants without emails but for everyone else?

    That may depend on your state.  But in CA, any contractual changes have to be physically mailed.

    I'd check with your state storage association if you're not sure.
