Is anyone using Cloud Controller? If so, how do you like it?0

We just upgraded and it comes with some learning pains. I would have been happy to stay with the older non-cloud version, but we wanted to offer their StorID (the tenant facing smartphone app) and it is only available if you subscribe with their Cloud version.GlenMark said:Is anyone using Cloud Controller? The interface is very different, and I personally don't like the main screen it defaults to (I don't need my GATE system graphically showing my occupancy and such)
I've gotten used to it, and the StorID app for our customers is really awesome!
ONE complaint ... when we locked our main sliding doors open (for a big move in) using the cloud interface the other week, then lost internet for a few hours..... there was no way to release the Gate until the internet came back online!3 -
I have had the Bridge client cloud controller for a few years now and this is always the problem, I assumed that once I switch to the cloud controller this issue would end! My problem is that my computer has to be on and running for any new tenants to get a gate code. There have been times I have been on vacation and my computer gets turned off, and no one realizes it, until a new customer says their code doesn't work. Hoping once I bypass the bridge client that any computer running will suffice. Fingers Crossed!teamcapitola said:

Now PTI is stating that the cloud adaptor we bought a year ago is "no longer supported and is end of life" Of course we can now upgrade to the $2800 Cloud CONTROLLER.... which since the falcon XT is no longer supported leaves us no choice.
Meanwhile the whole system isn't working as we continue to receive port failure errors which, surprise, must be the cloud adaptor.
20 seconds away from downgrading everything back to local database and running on a windows 7 machine (because Storlogix wont run on windows 11....conveniently)0 -

We're still getting by on a Windows 10 system with Storlogix purely to avoid issues like this.teamcapitola said:Adding to the fun!

I'm nervous, though, as we are switching software in May and I have no idea what headaches are still to come!

I'm running Storlogix on a Windows 11 machine. Is this not supposed to be a thing; or are you guys just talking about the new PTI software?0

I never like when a company tries to force it's customers to upgrade to a more expensive option, especially one that turns into a subscription. It feels like a money grab.
I reluctantly upgraded to the Cloud system (FalconXT with cloud adapter) about a year ago since the Storlogix mobile app stopped working. Overall, I like the Cloud system but I still feel like the benefits of it aren't quite enough to justify the added extra costs over the older system. Ever since I upgraded to the Cloud system, I always get "Port Failure to Controller" errors multiple times per day and it loses connection for a few minutes. After working with support, we determined that it's an Amazon Web Service issue that pops up during peak server use times. Even after replacing the FalconXT and cloud adapter with a Cloud Controller, I still get these errors. It's not a huge deal because it doesn't affect tenants at the gate, but my Storlogix mobile app will periodically go offline.
I do like the StorID app that tenants can use to open the gate from their smart phones. PTI's tech support has also improved dramatically.
If you ever have connection issues with the FalconXT or Cloud system, you can put the PTI keypad in stand alone mode. This will allow you to control the gate when those are offline, but this should only be temporary since it allows the gate to open when any code is entered on the keypad.- Press *, 0, and # simultaneously to enter setup mode
- Enter the password (default is 8898)
- Press the # key
- Change baud rate from default of 9600 to any other number
- Change Trip Relay NoCom from disabled to enabled
- Once finished with standalone mode, set the baud rate back to 9600 and the Trip Relay NoCom setting back to disabled. The keypad won’t open the gate unless you complete this last step: log into the Storlogix Cloud website, go to Setup, Controller, and select “Send Data To Controller”

If possible stay with the old system. Cloud based is a total hassle, and if you have internet connectivity issues you'll constantly be dealing with customer access complaints.1
